HER WORLD

POEM

She doesn’t want freedom. 

Freedom to her is a

heavy burden and threat to her.

She is safe in this cage

where she is provided with all necessities

like food, water and everything.

She knows not what is fear

since her enemies like cats, dogs

and snakes can't approach her to the cage
to prey on her

specially built for her

and suspended from above.

In a world where freedom

is a threat to every living being

which is polluted with atmosphere

acute shortage of pure water

severe dearth of victims and trees to rest

effluents pumped into the rivers

from riverside chemical factories

killing innumerable organisms

and hundreds of thousands of deaths

of innocent beings in the wars

and millions of displaced refugees

she always feels like

spending her days in paradise

from where she is able to

watch the outside world.
