PATH TO STARDOM

The path to stardom
is riddled with hurdles,
The path never a bed of
roses
full of thorns, sharp stones
thick bushes and craters.
Running from pillar to post
not enough
ambition not enough
perseverance not enough
hard work not enough
all but essential.
True, some are born actors
they too have to trudge a
long path
they are but exceptional
cases
lady luck always cast a blessing
glance at them
but many not that lucky
even if they are blessed with
the rare talent of acting
some leap straight to
the roles of heroes and
heroines
such cases not always
prevalent.
Ready to be cast in
less important roles
and by proving their
mettle
to the satisfaction of
the men behind the cameras
they are blessed with
more and more shining roles
ultimately reaching stardom
fame and money power always
come with it
Lady luck never stays
even after
achieving stardom
it has its ups and downs
complacency and overconfidence
all but path to
oblivion.
All enlightenment arrived
at
by watching
by hearing
but not by experiencing
since I am not a star
at all
but a common man.
