THE CONFLUENCE

Sun and earth
both melted into one
forming a confluence
of two rivers
like man and woman
becoming one
forming a confluence.
In the torrential downpour
of love, pleasure
and ecstasy
both he and she
get drowned
in the non-stop showers
cooling the hot, roasted surface
of earth
thus wiping out
the intensity of
drought
from the face of
earth as well as
below the surface which was
blistering under
a burning sun
for years together.
The rain continues
unabated
and
a day would come
when man would pray
for the sun to rise
once again
enabling him to
come out of his
cocoon
removing his blanket
of protection from chill
to welcome the
warm sun rays
once more…..
