DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS

She and I
born on the same day
in the immediate neighbourhoods
both grew up together
both studied together
in the same classes
same institutions
and
on attaining puberty
our love flowered
and we got married
lived together
spent our days under the
same roof.
I fathered two children
in her
but
to life’s problems
confronting both
we always got
different solutions
our calculations always
differed
and
both of us came
to the conclusion that
as long as we are
two
our calucations
wouldn’t be the same.
