SEARCH FOR A NEW DAWN

A great German
planted a sapling
on a fine morning
and together with his
British friend
watered and nurtured it
daily.
It shot up drawing
the water and manure
in the soil
and in no time
developed shoots
and leaves galore
evolving into a giant
green umbrella
which provided shade to millions
far and wide
from the blazing torch
in the sky
for a correspondingly
long period.
Age caught up with it gradually
and with its mission on
earth almost completed
it started shedding leaves
transforming itself into a skeleton
and like an old emaciated cow
being sold to the abbattoir
the new generation felled it
uprooted it.
The blazing torch
in the sky
which never ages
started spitting fire
forcing the gen new
search for an alternative
a new shade provider
to protect them scorching heat.
