fighting for a fresh lease of life.

The capital city as usual is abuzz with

crowds and vehicles  racing

past time to make both ends meet.

The capital city begins drowsing

with the fall of night and

the children of darkness

make their appearance from their dens seeking victims

to make a living.

The capital city’s citadel, however,

stands tall like an

impenetrable fortress

with silence ruling

the roost, thanks to the

round the clock security vigil.

The capital city’s

common citizens give

vent to their impotent rage on a

regular basis

through protest marches,

slogan shouting, stone-throwing

and all sorts of

weapons in their arsenal.

The capital city, being capital city

has got a name of its own….

and we are proud to be

a part of it.
