Sensing his dark pursuits
she walked ahead in fear,
Listening to his
dark footsteps she
walked ahead briskly.
Fearing kidnap, rape and murder
she moved ahead with
heart thumping
summoning all her courage at her disposal
she turned back
but to her surprise and embarrassment
she neither spotted anyone
nor could listen to the dark footsteps.
Heaving a deep sigh of relief
and regaining courage and composure
she moved ahead.
Smiling to herself she
continued walking and got frightened
on hearing his dark
footsteps closing in on her again
and her courage, composure and smile
evaporated and she mulled running fast
instead of walking to escape
from his clutches .
Running all of a sudden
she ran with all the speed at her command
he too ran after her forcing
her to cry loudly.
Spotting her mother
waiting for her arrival
far away in the balcony
she ran like a
cheetah to be in her
mother’s arms at the earliest.
Listening to her loud cries
he roared like a tiger
and ran after her….
