DANCE OF KALI

In the moon light
on the floor of
the roadside dilapidated
building,
Kali,
crossing her arms across
her breast.
Walks to and fro
Kali talks to herself
Kali sings to herself
Kali smiles to herself
Kali laughs to herself.
Kali stands still for a moment
starts dancing
Kali moving around in circles
Kali swaying her buttocks
thud, thud, thud
Kali’s dance gathers momentum
Kali roars to herself
Kali laughs aloud
thud, thud, thud
the dilapidated building is cracking
under her forceful
stamping feet
Kali’s brownish disheveled, disobedient hair
fluttering in the wind
thud, thud, thud,
Kali’s glowing red eyes
wide open
the dance reaching a
crescendo and
Kali falls on the floor panting.
