THE POOR GIRL CHILD

Believe it or not
this is the truth
the whole truth
nothing but the truth.
A poor girl child in our
immediate neighbourhood
lured by her boy friend
with school uniform, books,
bag and sweets
robbed off her virginity
its preciousness she
knew not.
He frequented her
later
he came with his other
friends
gifted her with little, little
gifts
and walked away with
gratification.
Her ‘poor father’,
one day spied on the goings
on,
saw enormous potential
in the flesh market
father pimped the little
girl child,
customers increased and multiplied
took her daily to
distant places
father but given a pittance
in each transaction
things went out
of his control
the girl child evolved into
public property.
And after the extraction of juice was
completed
the girl child
thrown into the ditch
with a child in her womb.
