THE WORLD AT PRESENT

In my lonely moments
I often ponder over
the plight of certain countries
caught in the web of
turmoil,
protests dime a dozen
violent clashes
police firings, blasting of
tear-gas shells
water-canons going furious
army staging flag march
thereby upsetting
the apple-cart.
Caught in the turbulence
always is the common
man,
who always yearns for
a peaceful ambience
a serene ambience
a tranquil ambience
which he loses badly
always turning common man
the victim
of a volatile atmosphere.
Upon witnessing his plight
my lonely moments
turn hellish
and to escape the agonizing lonely
moments
go out into the crowd
often a bar
gets inebriated
and tries to forget everything
shed tears like a babe
my heart always go down
to the suffering masses
who are in no way involved
in violent activities
who always crave for peace,
peace and peace only
and
what they miss badly is peace,
peace and peace only.
