TWISTS AND TURNS

Life often takes
unexpected twists and turns
contrary to the hopes and
expectations of human beings.
Dreams, thoughts, actions
all easy to preach
and they need not go
along the dotted lines.
Grit and resolve always
good
ambitions, dreams very nice
and all a must
but fate could turn
the dreamhouses upside down
otherwise
how a person who whole-heartedly,
sincerely and with determination
pursuing a doctorate
in a given field
land in a peon’s post
and how an average youth
with money power enter a
medical institution
how a promising life
in the prime of life
being cut short
by fate
fate, we could say
accidents, catastrophes
like volcanic eruptions
earthquakes, terror strikes
famines snuffing out
lives with a single stroke
what explanations all
these leave?
Still we tread knowing
the lurking dangers
awaiting to
strike anytime
that is human existence.
